A Man With a Lot of History in Northern Vermont Racing

Jack Anderson goes back a long way in Vermont stock car racing. Starting off at the tender age of 15 at the infamous "Smitty's Race Track", Jack went on to drive in several divisions - at many tracks all over the East Coast in his life. Jack seemed to be an enormously popular man who knew multitudes of people - both great and insignificant. When Jack happened across my web site, he not only decided to send me some rare, unseen photos; but, he has solved some mysteries about cars in some of the pictures.

More stories of "how it used to be" will unfold at the 16th annual LLOAR awards banquet Wednesday, Feb. 13 at the Plaza Spa and Resort, the site of several NASCAR awards ceremonies during the 1960s.

This year's honorees include Johnny Allen, Pioneer Of Racing; Jim Rathmann, Distinguished Driver; Buz McKim, Dedicated Service; Don Naman, Russ Moyer Media; Pattie Petty, Racing Woman Of The Year; Robert Yates, Allison Family Achievement; Danny "Chocolate" Myers, Nuts And Bolts; and Jack Anderson, Saturday Night Hero.
